Hello from college!
awesome. thanks for the intro. you seem to be pretty quick under my definition. you'll have no trouble moving up to olympic and maybe even half at some point. :)
hope you brought your bike to school.... i have a sister who went to Boston College (graduated i think 2 years ago) .... and she lived on her bike going from place to place.
She never did any tri or cycle sports, but im sure there has to be quite a few around there. And don't worry about transportation, im sure there will be atleast 1 or 2 people in your dorm or area that has car/bike rack.... you will probably see them riding around campus.... well, im sure u know all this.
well, good luck with your training

I'm at MIT so that's just 1.5 mi down Mass Ave from you! I just ride w/ the MIT cycling team since I'm planning on racing in the spring... I love coming back from the 6:30 am rides and beating all the traffic back into town. I know that Northeastern has a team, have you been riding with them?
I love to procrastinate on these kind of things....

I guess I should introduce myself...
I'm a freshman in college in Boston... I've done a lot of sprint triathlons in the northern illinois/southern wisconsin area over the past two summers. And I've done the swim for teams for a few years before then. I've never done an olympic because my dad wouldn't let me, but now I'm 18, so I will. I come from a swimming background. I started swimming when I was 8 and stopped last year. I was a breaststroker and IM'er and my freestyle, especially distance was not very good; so even though it is my strongest leg, I have work to do. I started running and cycling both 2 years ago and triathlons shortly after. Now I still run xc and I'll do collegiate cycling races, but I love doing tri's.
I'm not sure where I stack up among people in my age group since most people I've competed against were guys my dad's age. I don't have a car so I can't travel very far, but there are a ton of tri's in the rockford IL area.
I guess my best times in individual events are about 1:00 for 100 yard free in a pool, I can hold 22 mph on the bike for about 15 mi, and just under 20 min for a 5k run... I'd love to get faster. I can't do any of those at that pace for a full tri as much as I wish I could :)
I guess I'm lookin to do a few olympic's this year....
