I have an older Norco Eurosport tri-a bike. I believe it was a '89-'90 model.

Anyways I was tring to adjust the handlebar height but the darn thing would not move. I loosened the long bolt and actually removed it. Nothing budged. I tried to tap it with a rubber mallet, still nothing. I loosened the bolts above the headset, ( I think that is what it is called. The part of the frame that the bars and forks go into. ) and realized that that did nothing but mess up my bearings. And to make things worse when i tried to put the long bolt back in, it wont tighten. I checked and the bolt is not stripped.

Does anybody out there have an idea how to fix this? I cant ride my bike until I can at least secure the bolt, and there is probably only a couple of days left before the snow comes. With my job and family I can not get to the repair shop any time soon. Also are there any websites to look at?

Thanks alot everybody.

Ouch :(

If you can't get to a repair shop, maybe pick up a book at the library or local book store?

here are articles I found that might help:
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/repair/index.html
http://www.BikeWebSite.com/repairindex.htm
- this one has some stuff on headset and handlebars.

also try bikeforums.net or cyclingforums.com they have a large group of roadriders that might be able to help as well

Thanks alot Tribro.

I went to bikewebsite.com, what an amazing site. Almost as good as trifuel.com. It had detailed instruction on everything from giving your bike a tune up yourself to how to apply handlebar tape. And it was all free!!! I think I have figured out what I did wrong and hopefully tonight I can get my bike back into shape.

Thanks again.
