Unless your tri suit is really thin you should be able to get away with wearing just that. Anything else will just be an extra layer of material to hold water/sweat and rub against your skin.
This may sound like a stupid question, but here it goes...
Men, during a tri or any race, what do you wear underneath?
In a tri- I just bought a tri-suit, do I go commando? tighty-whitties? Speedos? What
Also during any other race such as a cycling event or running event, thats if you have proper attire. :o
