After finishing my first tri season I am going to be back for more :) . I signed up for the NYC triathlon on July 20th and was wondering if I could do a sprint race I did this past summer a week before the big race on the 13th. The NYC will be the biggest race I will have ever done and I don't wanna mess it up. Its very early to tell training wise but as a general rule of thumb is a week enough time to recover from a race?

A week is plenty of time to recover from a sprint, if you're tuned for the race there probably wont be too much recovery. I think you've probably decided NYC will be your A race so don't do anything in the sprint to jepordize that race. The sprint can give you a good warm-up for the larger race a week later and give you a little bit of a confidence boost in moving up to the olympic.
NYC is a blast. Good luck with both races.

I agree with Cayman, One week is plenty of time, especially if you are adequately prepared for NYC. Good Luck

i'd say use it to practice your transitions and setup, then take it easy and enjoy the sprint
