Mountain Bike Upgrades - Which to do first?

Go out and buy some slicks (no tread) tires for your mountain bike, that will be a huge help. A clipless pedal system will be a good investment too, you'll get a lot of extra power out of your pedal strokes.
I wouldn't suggest putting aerobars on a mountain bike, there's just no real reason to spend that extra cash on an item that really isn't meant for mountain bikes.
I don't know what sort of suspension you have on your mountain bike (front suspension is pretty common with giant MTB's) but if it's adjustable i would suggest tightening it so there is less movement, as you could burn up a lot of energy on the street if your front fork is too mushy.

Now that I've completed my first sprint-distance triathlon I am ready to start making some changes to my bike. I have a new Giant mountain bike and I like it a lot but couldn't help but notice I was getting DUSTED on the bike leg! But, I want to improve on it before a major upgrade.
Without purchasing a new bike, what changes do you recommend intially? What's the most important? I'm considering aerobars, tires, and pedals w/shoes probably in that order. I'd love to hear others' thoughts on which to buy first and where it's most important to spend and scrimp in the $$ department. THANKS! :)
