I decided to change this in the short term. The problem with allowing everyone to choose their own method of viewing is that it gets out of sync. latest posts don't show in order if someone replies to a comment within the comment, it appears after that comment which could be the middle of the page. Let's use the blockquote tag for now. thanks.
As well many just click 'reply' to reply to the original post not realizing that it is a threaded reply.
Also letting every one set their own overrides anything I do as the admin. So until I figure out the best way we're going to try and keep the experience universal.
so with that I upped the comments per page to 200, the new link should work on all but a handful of threads because there is less paging. so click 'new' to get to the last post and it should work (aside from mozillas issue).
There are comment option fields at the bottom of each thread. Set this and it will set it for all threads.
There is also a "reply" link after each comment. Only use the reply link if you are replying to the specific comment. If you are commenting on the original thread use the form at the bottom. Otherwise it will thread it and not show as the latest comment.
