Who's in? I am gonna do December as a one run/day in Z1 no less than 30min./day. Anyone care to commiserate? :p

It'll be great for run base, we'll have a goal AND can still justify eating Christmas cookies! LOL!

Aren't there 31 days in Dec? ;)

I'm probably not in -- in honor of my love of getting lost in the trails and running longer than planned, it could be a great way for me to get injured

What BBB is also not telling you you is that the other requirement is that it has to rain for all 30 (31) days - may rule out those not in the PNW! :)

Rain? I don't understand....

Yeah, I ran late last night, and my long sleeve top was a bit too warm. The shorts were good though. :D

Sorry... not lazy. It's just not a smart idea for me. I value being able to run in January more than I value running every day this next month. I know that personally those kinds of challenges can lead to overuse injuries for me, and a lack of listening to my body. And I'd rather listen.

Have fun with the daily run!
I will be doing 5 runs a week - on my off-season plan. It has a strong run and bike focus, so I will just be "lazy" and cheer ya on! ;)

Ya cayman, Hak are on board. AND we have a peanut gallery :-P I just have to have something to "go for" to be consistant. The rain and all of Dec. off for holidays will make me a lazy bugger for sure. Remember it's all Z1 running though. no cheating into higher zones :-P

I would love to, but I can only run every second day due to previous overuse injuries... This is the only way I can ensure I don't get injured.
That, and it's not the off season over here...

If one runs in Z1, below AeT then there is a much better chance they will be able to maintain a consistancy of runs like this. Very good for base. But you know your body best. might as well stick to it.

To add fun to this as a competition, as we triathletes ARE competative, we can add a points system to this. How about this:

RULES You get 1point for a 30minute run, 2 points for a 60 minute run and 3 points for a 1.5hr run. And if you are planning a day off the following day you must run 2x the day before a day off.

Only way you can take a day off is if you 1) get hit by a car, 2) get sick so you can't walk, 3) Aliens abduct you.

No excuses

if
1) get hit by a car,- you could walk or crawl to the hospital
2) get sick so you can't walk,- you can crawl
3) Aliens abduct you - they might have a treadmill on board

Oh yeah I'll be ready....no excuses, right? The swelling is down and I'm back in running shoes. Walking is ok and it's really stiff and sore in the morning but it goes away with use..
Extra points for snow? Sleet? Freezing gack? (photo required)

This thing is based on the honor system. Hopefully you make up the few minutes in a warm up or a cool down.

Or take it easy and have a nice, easy 5k :D

Ya, it's the honor system. Basically you're only cheating yourself. Just write in what you have done for the day. Keep track of points. It's NOT a competition with anyone but YOURSELF. I don't think we should push ourselves or see who is able to do more than anyone else. Go slow (Z1) and have fun. That IS the key to this. It's supposed to be fun, so make it that. The only reason for doing this, is to give yourself a goal and have a reason to get out during the Christmas season and do something so that we don't sit there eating cookies and bon bons then feel guilty for it, especially for not working out.

For those more adventurous we should compliment this with bricks if we can. You know who you are :-) Base building is key and sub AeT work at LSD is the goal. Swims are also an option.

Remember have fun for it. Beads, take it easy for the race. Ya got alot of running after that. Don't pooch yourself out. Anton, good to hear you are feeling better. RICE till we start man.....and no, no extra points for rain, sleet...... I will likely be running in that everyday here in Van. which will mean I cleanup with bonus points LOL Just not fair for you all :p

So:
Run everyday.
1 point for each 30 minutes.
No extra points for anything.

Nice and simple...I like it.
No RICE for me..I up the anty...PRINCE (not his purpleness)

Doesn't look like any of our other recent posts have made it over yet (Sunday, 10:40 EST). So I'm gonna repost... and add.
Day 1- Ran a 4 miler easy on the ankle wearing a brace...felt great to get out running. 35 minutes. 1 Point.
Day 2. Still being the soul of caution: easy 4 miler on the ankle with a brace. 35 minutes. 1 point.
We never made allowance for partial time increments. I'll use a <,> config. ie: If it's less than :45 then that's a 1. If is greater than :45, that's a 2. As we set up 1 point for each :30...unless you guys are ok with half points?

Day 2 of the slothfest running. Compact snow and warmer with slight rain spit. This will get rid of the crap. Nice slothy run. For this one I wanted to keep going but said no cause I have alot of days ahead of me and I gotta ride to work tomorrow, so best to rest up. Also went slower today cause I didn’t wanna slip and twist an ankle or something. A very fun run!

6.3km 34:35min, Z1 HRavg 133 (1 point) Total to date =3 points

Day 1: 36 minutes. Day 2: 52 minutes in the same snow slush and ice, although it was more fun then yesterday's 24 degrees with a sustained wind. I wanted the hour today but I couldn't feel my wet feet any longer. Hopefully the next 29 days will toughen me up.

Total of 2 points.
