Trifuel Updates
Are you using clouds?
clouds? assume you're referring to tag clouds? not out of the gate, but yes moving the forums over to the same content system as the articles will allow for aggregating multiple content types by tags and eventually add clouds for the top tags.
very good stuff! Can't wait to play with it :)
And I guess closed forums just means I'll have to go outside and play.
That's what I meant - cool. That'll help speed searching.
'tis the season

well, certainly taking much longer than I anticipated but I think I've got the bulk of the backend done and will try to migrate the forums and users over tonight.
so, the new forums will look differnt. less bells and whistles to start but in the long run there will be more interactivity throughout the rest of the site so I think the change will be benificial.
fingers crossed it migrates o.k. :)
I'm excited for the lack of all the separate forums. When you get on here daily, it's a pain to have to go to every forum when every new post from them all would only fill one page anyways.
Anyways, I think it's great that you're so active in updating the site and the forums. This is a great tool.

??? You don't need to go to every forum - I just hit the new posts and everything is on one page.
I do second the appreciation for the great improvements that continually happen here!

Haha I was just going to share the same new posts tip :) Actually I don't even click it... i just go to it enough that it's one of the links that comes up as an option if I type trifuel into the address bar!
Also excited to see the new look/feel Tribro!
the format will be more like endurable in just a simple layout. but the idea is to extend comments to gear, races, etc, so there is more community interaction throughout the site. it'll come in phases so this first phase in more backend then front end. except for the forums. once migrated then I'll work gear guide, race guide, and user profiles. as well as slowly add more functionality to the forums.
Looking good thus far :)
Quick question. I was looking through allowed html tags and just curious is will be allowed, or if we'll need to link & launch externally.

I didn't get that. what did you want allowed? Images?
Assuming it was images, I just added the ability for code within posts and comments, and ability to add images as attachments.
I use a plug in called SAGE on firefox to track new posts and comments on Blogs.
Is this something the new site will be compatible with?

Hey gang,
Well I'm back and have been hard at work trying to put together plans for Trifuel v3. Most of you who've been around a while know I make changes and updates this time of year. So know I'm hard at work coming up with the next generation Trifuel.
First to come and the biggest change for you guys will be a change to the forums. I've been running several different software apps to put this site together and am now focused on bringing it all together so it's easier to manage and allows for more flexibility in adding new features and ease of use.
The biggest hurdle has been figuring our how to migrate users from the forum to the system that runs the content on the site without it being a big inconvience for you. I think I may have finally found a solution. The forums may work a little differently, but it will be cleaner and less cluttered, allow for tagging posts instead of all the separate forums we currently have, ability to have better profile pages listing your posts, faster and less taxing on the server. I'm trying to port over all the content so discussions can continue on the new system, and figure out private massaging so you guys don't lose that.
It will be a big change which is usually never fun, but long term it will allow for better integration with other sections of the site and a better overall experience and usefulness. At least that's the plan.
So, working on the plan of attack but hopefully I will make the migration and update this weekend, so if the forums are closed for a bit that's why. If it goes as planned, I'll update you guys with new features that will follow. Fingers crossed!
