This is my 4th year of triathlons but the first year where I feel I sort of know what I'm doing. I ride a LeMond Nevada City and have been happy with it. I have done nothing to it to make it tri specific becuase I didn't think it was needed until the engine was in good shape. I feel now the engine is getting in shape so I would like to reap the awards of a few upgrades. I am thinking carbon forks, aeor bars with bar end shifters, and aero wheels. What upgrades I do are prioritized by biggest bang for the buck and what others are getting rid of on Ebay.

I would be interested in hearing others opinions on my suggested upgrades and other suggestions as well. I eventaully would like to get a tri specific bike but financially that is out of the question right now and I would like to get a few good seasons under my belt such that the bike becomes a reward.

I think you have a good plan, which is only to say I think like you do.:)

The first, best upgrade is the aero bars. You have been using clip-ons?
Why?
Because getting used to the forward riding position resting on the aero bars, practicing that position on the bike, the new stresses on your back, etc. takes time.

best of luck,
