June 30 brings the increasingly popular Tour de Rocky Top. In addition to the traditional 62, 50, and 30 mile options, 2012 brings a Century to the table. Climbing Chilhowee Mountain via infamous Butterfly Gap Rd., the century option is not for beginners—and even the most veteran cyclist should bring those climbing gears. Tour de Rocky Top starts and ends at Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria in Knoxville's Old City, with scenic rolling routes that head south toward Blount Co. The ride finishes with a post race ride party second to none, featuring pizza, beer, and Day 1 of Tour de France viewing at Barley's. Ride proceeds go to the Jeff Roth Foundation.
