The Atomic Man Triathlon is Tennessees oldest half iron distance event and part of the ATOMIC WEEKEND along with the Atomic Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon. 2012 celebrates the 10th year of the event that has won praises from athletes, spectators and officials as one of the best half iron distance races in the Eastern US.

PACKET PICKUP & LATE REGISTRATION- PICTURE ID REQUIRED Saturday, Sept. 29th 5 PM - 7 PM at pre-race dinner in Oak Ridge, TN (site TBD). Race morning from 6 AM to 7:30 AM at race site. Registration is open race morning! Relays MUST come together to pick-up packets.

RACE LOCATION- The TVA Melton Hill Recreation Area is located outside Lenoir City, TN just off Hwy 321/95. The race site is about 30 miles West of Knoxville. From I-40 exit #364 towards Oak Ridge approximately 1/2 mile to park entrance on your RIGHT Look for Mastercraft banner! The three large parking lots are 1.3 miles into the park on the left before the dam hill. Camping on site is $14 night/ per site. Hot showers!

SWIM START INFORMATION- The swim is a wave start from just outside the swim area at the dam end. The course will be a two loop rectangle finishing on the beach of the swim area. Swimmers will exit through large arch each loop, re-entering after lap one. Keep buoys to your Right. Follow flagging to transition area. Water temp approx. 73.

BIKE COURSE- Bike course is a modified two loops using Hwys.95 & 58. Two water bottle exchanges at 22 & 43 miles. Bike Course map link: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/57509008 Cedar Bluff Cycles will be on-site for bike adjustments and help on the bike course.

RUN Course- The run is a scenic route through the TVA park, right on Woodlawn Road to left on Buttermilk, (Cones will mark course side of road – stay near cones to avoid cars). Follow to left on Davis Road to turnaround at Rocky Top Road. Return back same route to first loop turnaround just inside park. Runners will pass 14 aid stations on the two-loop course. Each will be will be ready with Gatorade, oranges, Hammer Gel, pretzels, water and ice. Race number will be marked at the three turn-arounds.
