The Marion Arts Festival (MAF) is a free public event, showcasing the work of high caliber artists in twelve diverse media. The MAF will once again feature a fun, competitive 5K to kick off the day’s festivities. After the race, participants are invited to enjoy festival activities. Continuous live music and specialty food vendors will also be featured throughout the day.
MORE GOOD STUFF A great selection of refreshments will be available for runners and walkers. The awards ceremony will begin immediately following the race. All participants will be eligible for door prizes, but must be present to win. New door prizes this year will include four fabulous, $100 “purchase prizes” to spend on artwork at the festival!

The Marion Arts Festival 5Kwill feature chip timing. Participants will compete wearing a soft, adjustable, Velcro ankle-band, containing a computer chip for recording exact race splits. With a system from AMB i.t., JMS Racing Services will provide the most immediate, accurate timing available. Posted results will include gun time, chip time and mile split times.
Purchase Prize Purse of $1,450
Generous “purchase prizes” to spend with exhibiting artists at the festival will be awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the first male and female in the Masters Division (40+). First place finishers receive $150, second place $100, third place $75 and Masters $75 each. A purchase prize of $125 will be awarded to the first person to cross the one mile mark.
Awards will go to the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions: 14 and under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 and over. Awards will go to the top three Clydesdale and Athena. Top three male and female finishers and Masters male and female winners are not eligible for age group awards.
Winners in each age group category of the 5K walk will receive an award.
The Arts Festival 5K will feature a team competition. Teams will be made up of three indididuals and scored cross-country style.
