The race had an exponential growth from about 250 competitors in 2000 to 1173 in 2005. More than this, the race's reinforcement in the international circuit may be proved by the fact that most of the athletes come from abroad.

Swim: The swim takes place in the beautiful central Lake Paranoa. The water is typically calm and flat. We'll have a deepwater start. Water temperature usually ranges from 68 to 72 degrees. Wetsuits are permitted.

Bike: About the bike course, it's a fast course, with some gradual hills and not steep. The pavement is a new asphalt all the way on the course. The athletes will go through the nice new bridge called Ponte Juscelino Kubitscheck.

Run: The run course is mostly flat, with few challenging gradual hills. We expect to have a fast course.
