It's not about the bike... or the swim or the run...
It's about the money!
Clearly this seems to be the trend in our sports media this year. I've always felt the 'swimsuit' issue was pretty lame and a clear stab at trying to grab more sales of non-triathletes. The gear issue was over the top as well. Now Inside Triathlon seems to be following suit. Sad. With so much changeover at InsideTri over the years I'm wondering if this is a last attempt to actually keep the magazine alive? Would they do this with their sister magazine Velonews?
Are they really trying to cover the sport and does this do a good job of representing what triathletes are all about. The deeper I get into this sport sometimes, the more frustrated I get with the industry's motivation. Almost like a gold rush mentally land grab to get eyeballs and make money while the sport is somewhat 'mainstream'. The Bachelor doesn't help either.
This morning I'm embarrassed to be a Triathlete :(
Read InsideTri's "reasoning" on the slowtwitch thread.

(and take into consideration the thread has more than 16,000 views, hmm trying to create interest in the next issue. Unfortunately seriously backfiring...)
