Going, Going Gone

It seems IronMan races are no longer the only events selling out in the blink of an eye, 100 mile trail runs have joined in on the feeding frenzy as well. Yes folks, that is correct, 24+ hour, 100 mile trail running foot races thru some of the hilliest, rockiest, rootiest and ankle twistiest parts of the the country are now selling out in hours.

Swimming

For 6 weeks before my first tri, I logged an average of 2858 m/week. Result was finishing 81/160 for the swim. In my last triathlon I did not swim a single time for 6 weeks, and was 64/121 on the swim. I was mid pack both times, so either 3k of swimming per week isn't enough to make a difference, or my swim training isn't effective.

Training Plan

Today I decided to organize my training. Up until now, I've never planned training more than 24 hours in advance. From this point on, I would like to have a plan for no less than 2 weeks, and no more than 4 weeks out. We'll see how it goes. The time I think I have to train is a lot more hours/week than the time I've actually logged in the past. Time will tell how it goes.
Stress Fracture

I made the standard rookie mistake of overtraining and wound up with a shiny new stress fracture for my troubles. Obviously I'm not running for 6 - 8 weeks, which means no PDX marathon. I am wondering how much biking can I do? How long should I wait to start biking? Can I swim right away?
Just one of those days

So today was the first day in the past 3 weeks of starting to get back into running shape that I didnt do anything. I really wanted to go do a trail run up in Seneca Creek but I just couldnt get going (I think the fact that I woke up at 9:30 and had coco puffs might be something to do with it ).
Vermilion Olympic Tri

I wasn't happy about not being able to use my bike for this, but taking mine was not an option. Friday morning I woke up at 3:00am and decided to take the pedals and aero-bars off my bike so I could put them on the bike I'd be using. At 4:30am I gave up trying to find the tools I needed and went back to bed. At the airport, they took my co2, which I should of expected, but they also took

Citius. Altius. Fortius.
The words are inscribed on the stones of the main entrance to the original Olympic stadium of the ancient Greeks. They have been adopted by the modern Olympic movement as a sign of continuity with the original Olympic ideals.
