Friends of the Riverfront is proud to again host the 2006 Seagate Pittsburgh Triathlion & Adventure Race. This race highlights the regeneration of our riverfront and the outdoor opportunities that makes Pittsburgh such a unique place. This is the only race like this in the region and we hope to grow as such and continue to offer competative races as well as a good time! This safe course gives participants, spectators and the community an appreciation and understanding of valuable environmental and recreational resources we have within a stoneís throw of our daily ritualsówork, school, and home. Friends of the Riverfront hosts this race to spotlight the accessibility to and special needs of our rivers and riverfronts. We hope people will gain a deeper respect for restoring and being responsible for our regionís natural resources.

Swim Course
The swim follows the Allegheny River shore in the almost point-to-point swim between the new stadiums and riverfront park within downtown Pittsburgh. Water is @ 74F, with little current, and healthy.

Bike Course
It will be a completely closed bike course along the HOV Lane and around the stadiums with a steady climb uphill and a dramatic descent and view back into the City. 2 loops for the Tri and 1 for the Adv. Race.

Run Course
The run will take place along the scenic Allegheny River on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail System. Often shaded the trail is sometimes paved and sometimes crushed limestone. Two historic bridges will be crossed with a dramatic finish along the shore.
