Description
CGI Racing presents the North East Triathlon in the beautiful town of North East, Maryland…”The Land of Pleasant Living” is pleased to welcome the sport of triathlon back to town. North East was, for many years, host to one of the most popular triathlons on the East Coast. Located about halfway between Philadelphia and Baltimore, North East is both close and easy to get to.
Swim Course
The swim will be in the beautiful North East River with water temperatures warm but wet suits should be allowed.
Bike Course
The bike course will be on smooth, paved roads with almost the entire bike course on roads having very wide shoulders (at least 8’ wide). The course starts with an out and back along Rt. 272. The athletes will then pass the transition area and do another out and back on Rt. 7 before returning to the transition area. The terrain is a nice combination of flat and rolling hills.
Run Course
The run course will exit the transition area and take Rt. 272 for about 1.6 miles. Runners will pass the transition area and do a scenic loop through picturesque downtown North East enroute to the finish line.
