Amino Acids during training and competition

Pros: Hornet Juice has a fairly neutral taste that didn't make my current sports drink to busy. More energy at end of workouts. It dissolves easily and allows you to customize your own sports drinks.
Cons: I can drink and digest the Hornet Juice with easily before a race and while on the bike in training or racing but it leaves me a little burpy if I drink it during a run.
I am not one to notice big nutritional impacts but I did recognize a dramatic increase in sustained power and speed on a 5hr mtn bike followed a 30min run. I drank one serving of Hornet Juice before the workout and one during the 5hr ride and I felt great at the end of the ride and on the run. I have enjoyed the same benefit in a recent 1/2 Ironman event and Xterra National Champs in Lake Tahoe.
There seams to be a lot of good research supporting the efficacy of Hornet Juice. Over the last 4 or 5 years energy drink companies have been adding proteins or amino acids to their drinks to improve there ergogenic effects. The idea is that these proteins help an athlete spare glycogen and mobilize fat during to aid in an endurance bout. Protein intake is also known to stimulate the release of the hormone adrenaline which helps keep us alert. Hornet Juice seams to be taking it one step further by looking to the highly advanced endurance capacity of a hornet for guidance.

The product actually does for me as advertised

Pros: (see review)
Cons: Not available in retail stores, only online. Just one flavor
I have tried products in the past that were based on a combination of amino acids that claimed to give you more stamina to allow for better and stronger workouts. Most of these products have not worked well for me but did work for some of my athletes. I will tell you of my experience with the Hornet Juice.
I have competed in triathlons in the past but not for several years so I had not been in the pool for over a year and a half. I had a couple of triathletes I was coaching so I needed to get back in the pool. With no swim conditioning I thought this would be a good test to see if the Hornet Juice would actually help with my workout. The first time I used it was just before I left for the pool and imagine my surprise when I was able to swim 1250 yards. I was expecting to be sore the next day but I wasn't. Three days later I used the Hornet Juice again and once again swam 1250 yards. After a day off I swam 1400 yards on two days back to back and in each case did not have any undue soreness or fatigue. I am convinced that your product is what made the difference because I went for a 10 mile run without taking the Hornet Juice and could definitely feel the difference.
