Description
HOTS is the 2005 venue for the USAT/PNW Regional Jr./U-23 Championship.

Abundant lodging w/meals available at Camp Burton, 1/4 mile from Tri start.

This "island rural" course starts with a saltwater dip in the most protected harbor in Puget Sound, cycle tour through rolling hills with forested views. Chip timing this year!

Swim Course
A triangular course in protected Quartermaster Harbor. New buoys for 2005 ! Warmer than the deep Sound, but bring a wetsuit: Temp 63-67f in past years.

Bike Course
A challenging ITU-style loop course, with both climbs and great downhills.

Run Course
Juniors run once around the (2.9km) Burton Loop, the U-23's go twice (5.8km). A very gentle run, and closed to traffic during the run this year.

Distance Details
Juniors: Swim: 600meters / Bike: 11km / Run: 2.9km

HOTS 2005 5 out of 5 stars

Vashon Island race was very good. Challenging course. Outgoing and informed volunteers. Friendly civilians. Challenging course. After participating second year, we can continue to rate this race very high - once again the best of our season. They need some changes in padding to cover the barnicles coming out of the water, but their current system worked well enough again this year, and the problem is nothing that would interfere with our continued high support of this event. Well worth a look next year if you're one who likes to add some sight seeing in a race weekend.
