Description
Do you want a great summertime challenge, at a super family venue? Then come down to Fish Lake (just off I-70 near Richfield) for the Gold Medal Racing Fish Lake Triathlon! This is NOT the same Fish Lake Tri that has been held in the past. This event will be held at Fish Lake itself, not in a pool in town. Both Sprint and Olympic distance races are on the docket. Come take a swim in the pristine waters of Fish Lake, and ride and run through the beautiful scenery surrounding the lake. The race will be fun, yet challenging! This is a high altitude challenge that is not for the intimidated racers. Other exciting events in conjunction with the triathlon are planned to make this not only a great race, but a great event for the family.

Swim Course
Olympic: The Sprint swim will be 750 meters in the pristine waters of Fish Lake. Water temperatures are expected to be in the mid 60’s so wetsuits are strongly recommended. Olympic: Same as Sprint, but two loops for 1500m

Bike Course
Sprint: Racers will proceed through the transition area through the appropriate entrance and exits and begin the bike course. The bike course will consist of a single loop from the starting area, approximately 6 miles on paved roads surrounding the lake and to Johnson’s reservoir where the course will turn around and return back to the transition. Some rolling hills will add to the challenge. Olympic: Same route, but continues up the road surrounding Johnson Reservoir for a total of 25 mi.

Run Course
Sprint: No need to run through sand dunes or dirt trails here. A consistent road course surface will add to the comfort of this event. The run course is 5K and will head along a newly paved route in a single loop to complete the race and finish near historic Fish Lake Lodge. Olympic: Same route as sprint, but consists of two loops.

Distance Details
Sprint: 750m swim, 12 mi bike, 5k run; Olympic: 1500m swim, 25 mi bike, 10k run
