Cycling Fitness Results Series

Pros: 3 workouts. Great Music. Very comprehensive training system. Stretching routine.
This is the best cycling series I have ever used, and I own them all! As a former pro cyclist turned age group triathlete, I am always looking for ways to maintain my cycling shape both in and off season. The cool thing is that each DVD follows Joe Friel's training bible and fits in your training wherever you are in your season. Best of all, each DVD has 3 separate workouts with varying audio tracks. The look is static, but it is clean and easy to follow. You can tell a lot of thought and preparation went into the production of this series. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Pros: Not a blank screen on the TV.
Cons: Poor music choices.Boring.Uninformative.A waste of $27.
For Christmas 2006, I received Rides Volume 1: The Rockies to watch while cycling indoors. It was absolutely fabulous. So, I then ran off and purchased additional DVDs to watch while cycling indoors thinking that they would do 2 things:
A. Help me stay motivated to ride indoors in the winter.
B. Help me with my training.
One of the DVDs I bought was the 4th one in this series. [so I cannot speak for any of the others in this series] However, this DVD was a spectacular disappointment and one of the largest wastes of money I have ever spent.
Here's what you get to see:
5 people riding trainers.
But wait, there's multiple viewpoints!
The camera fades left and right and zooms in!
Oh yes, and there is uninteresting music playing.
It is BORING.
The workout on the video: 10 min warmup, 20 min interval [zone 4, 90rpm], 10 min easy , 20 min interval [zone 4, 90rpm], 10 min cooldown.
Oh wait, there are 2 additional workouts!!
10 min warmup, 25 min interval [zone 4, 90rpm], 10 min easy , 25 min interval [zone 4, 90rpm], 10 min cooldown.
AND
10 min warmup, 30 min interval [zone 4, 90rpm], 10 min easy , 30 min interval [zone 4, 90rpm], 10 min cooldown.
For me [and most people who ride inside], this type of workout is already very well known and easy to do on my own without spending $30.
Buy this if you like to fall asleep watching DVDs!
