Description
The Quintana Roo Caliente is one incredibly fast bike that we could have just named “hot”, but using the Spanish translation just made it sound even more intense. After you see the Caliente’s incredible new paint scheme, witness the frame shaping inspired by the Lucero, feel its blazing performance and burn through your PR’s, we think you’ll see that it lives up to its name no matter the language. System integration of carbon aero seatpost and Real Design Aero HP fork only boosts the Caliente’s resume. The Caliente’s new handcrafted full carbon frame is leaps and bounds ahead, in both ability and head-turning characteristics, than any other bike in its class.
Carbon monocoque design for molded
aerodynamics, light weight, and a comfortable ride. Unique tri-specific geometry increases efficiency and eases bike to run transitions.
Internal cable routing, aero seat post and a uni-directional 12K Carbon Layup finish add to the Caliente's aesthetic beauty and aero performance.
Adjustable rear entry dropouts allow you to tuck the rear wheel close behind the seat tube (700c only)

Worked out the kinks...

Pros: Very fast bike, super smooth Dura-Ace drive train. Vision aero's are comfortable, base bar and brake levers create a super slim profile. stealth black paint-job beats the standard flames on the 2005's.
Cons: paint job will chip fairly easily, made in Taiwan. Stock wheels, SuperSonic 40's rattle on rough surfaces.
I purchased a 2005 Caliente locally on sale. My first one(see my thread Caleinte???) broke at the front derailleur clamp point because I apparently pulled too hard on the shifter lever. Same thing happened with frame #2. QR blessed me with one more chance and all is well. I love this bike, it is very fast, light, aero, especially coming from a Cannondale R600(which is bulletproof and I love it, but what a step up to Caliente!!). The frame is all black, with Quintana Roo decals on the seat tube and down tube. My Caliente has a white fork, which looks great contrasted against the black frame. The Real Design wheels are very light and the aero carbon "rim" enables me to battle headwinds effortlessly. Third times a charm!

Cons: Need to buy training wheels; need to ease up on power to shift the front chain rings.
Very happy w/ my bike! I have the 650 wheels which are a bit to get used to but the bike was comfortable in no time at all. Being a smaller rider, we cut back the tri bars a couple of inches and it fits like a dream. I did up grade the seat to a Fizik Arione Tri - and I'm happy that I did...I love Fizik saddles! Add on some Keo Carbon pedals and it feels speedy! My first "true-tri bike" and absolutely no regrets!
